About
Region 24
The
members of Region 24 reside in such varied locales as the snow-capped
mountains of Montana, the breathtaking valleys of Idaho, the beautiful
city of Vancouver, Washington, and the sandy beaches and redwood forests
of Oregon.
They also have roots
in varied walks of life: they are teachers, businesswomen, moms, lawyers,
and every profession you can think of but mostly, our members are all
champions. They are champions of song, champions of friendship, and champions
of many types of harmony, especially when they come together to share
the joy of singing.
And, each of our
twenty choruses has an unique personality, reflecting the wonderfully
diverse men and women who direct them. The annual chorus shows, cabarets
and other performances are mirror images of the multiplicity of our landscape,
personalities, occupations and musical influences that surround us.
Region 24 boasts
over 650 members. The region generally supports somewhere between 18-24
quartets, which include some of the finest singers in the Pacific Northwest.
The region
affords these women music education opportunities, organizational, administrative
and financial infrastructure, camaraderie among women who have only the
language of music in common, and a very large community that stretches
across the entire four-state region, from the redwoods of Oregon and Washington,
to the snowcaps of Idaho and Montana.
